Sermon On The Mount Moscone Center West

Well... another Apple WWDC Keynote by Steve (Jobs). I tried to get there this year but apparently my kung-fu wasn't that good. No stream this year either though, so I had to wait until the various rumour sites and Appl had updated to find out. Nice stuff in Tiger, the next incarnation of MacOS X. New displays that match the G5's smooth look.

30 INCH LCD DISPLAY

OH MY GOD!!!! Of course, Apple being Apple they posted the following on their page:

But even more than saving you money, when you choose items that consume less electricity, it means that power plants don’t need to consume as much fossil fuels and thus emit fewer greenhouse gases. What’s more, building an LCD display uses less materials than building a CRT, which leaves more raw materials for your grandchild’s computer. And since they don’t need huge boxes, flat panels also reduce the cost of packaging and shipping. All of this helps to reduce dependence on oil.

Yep. Because the reason we all covet a 30" LCD is because they're environmentally friendly. Sure we do....
