All Gearing Up

Well I got to record some LIVE strings last night playing some of my fly tunes for the project I'm doing at the moment, entitled "The Passing At The Ville".

Lush.

Also did a presentation this morning on my work in film and animation stuff for university people. Like, 3 people showed up.

Boy do I feel validated.

Oh The Fun

My only exam this semester is on the 23rd of June, while I am due to fly out to San Francisco for WWDC on the 20th of June. Am I re-scheduling a flight? Nuh-uh, so I have to arrange to sit the exam before I leave, which will probably end up being before everybody else gets to do it. Unfair, ne?

On the upside, my stuff has arrived. That would be my passport, along with my plane tickets and travel insurance.

Just to prove again my really bad Harry Potter addiction (like Tigris and me at the Chamber of Secrets opening in costume wasn't bad enough!), I shall be attending a "Harry Potter and Order Of The Phoenix" launch party at Booksmith in San Francisco on the night I arrive. Yessiree, Jet lag can go screw itself.

I know it will be the US version, but that's okay, but I will be getting it cheaper than I could here in Australia. And about 6 hours earlier too.

One of my roommates at the hotel has decided he will join me, and I have reserved my copy so I am looking forward to reading it really quickly then posting spoilers here.

On another note, I will be running a special blog for the duration of my stay in San Francisco. You can access it at http://wwdc2003.blogspot.com. I won't be posting information I learn at the conference, as that is kind of breaking the non-disclosure agreement I have had to sign as an Apple Developer Connection member, but all the antics of the conference and my time in San Francisco will be posted.

I will be posting at ridiculously short intervals, but you'll understand why shortly.

Well, my plane tickets have arrived and I am await my passport (thanks for identifying me with a smiley face, Patrick). Joy of stuff and things.

San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)

I won my scholarship!!! I'm off to sunny San Francisco in June for the Apple World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC 2003)!!!

So now I am organising flights, accomodation, money, travel insurance, a new camera, a passport and more. Whew!!

I am staying at the Ramada Plaza Downtown, so that should be fun. I will be keeping a diary for the week. Well, 8 days, anyway. Fun. I will probably purchase the new Harry Potter book on my sight seeing day (21/6) so I can read it on the way home, because I have a 6 hour stoppover at LAX.
